Good to Know
- Birka is an open‑air museum with natural terrain, though the museum, shop, Viking Quarter and restaurant are stroller‑accessible. Other areas have limited accessibility.
- Accessibility on M/S Mälar Victoria is good, with a wide gangway, open spaces and an accessible restroom. Only the top deck requires stairs.
- Accessibility on Birka is partial. The museum area has gravel and flat paths, and you can access the museum, shop, Viking Quarter and restaurant. An accessible restroom is available. The guided tour includes steep slopes and natural terrain, which may be challenging for some visitors.
- Strollers are allowed, preferably foldable, and may be brought on board the boat but must remain in the main‑deck lobby. They are not permitted in the café or restaurant.
- The guided tour starts outside the museum and takes place entirely outdoors, The tour lasts 45–60 minutes and covers roughly 1–1.5 kilometers.
